Similar Weather Analysis Tool (SWAT): The Similar Weather Analysis Tool (SWAT) is a proprietary analysis capability that identifies similar weather events within a large historical data archive. This identification is performed through the input of a user-defined or automated convective and non-convective weather event patterns, subsequent analysis of the depicted input pattern for unique characteristics, and comparison of the pattern against a historical weather observational dataset. The algorithm outputs a list of historical weather events, ordered or ranked based on their similarity to the input depiction, and describes the observations through display of event dates and times, also enabling the user to visualize each output observation.
